We do not call our students kids or even teens because they are adults, free and responsible. They know how to study well, how to stick up for themselves and how to correct their mistakes. They know a lot and they can apply their skills in real life. People who live here feel like at home because our school was made by their hands.
It’s difficult to explain what our school is. Why completely tired students who have above 8 lessons every day, who write compositions and essays, why do not they want to sit on the sofa watching T.V., but like maniacs go on the gathering of school newspaper, repetition of our theatre, meeting with a small group, which is called "presentation"? Why we, have paid for studying, why do we wash the floors and stain the walls? Why is the light in the computer class on until 12p.m., why we, tired and distressed, why do we never leave our favorite school?
It’s very difficult to study here. You can’t drink and smoke in this school. If any teacher sees you drinking alcohol you will be kicked out of school. It is popular to be smart and healthy, to be successful, happy, erudite and work a lot. This is OUR style, the style of "VZMAKH".
Every student works hard in our school! Some of them work for a school newspaper or in the school bank, some prepare business games, do some market research and Gallup polls. We have got 5 big school corporations which work like real companies with their own managers, directors and marketing consultants. Everyone in the school has the right to have his own opinion, to make choices, to be responsible for all events in school and able to participate in school’s life. We trust each other. That’s why we haven’t got rings and diaries and our director knows every student’s name.
By the way, our school is not just an ordinary school but a republic "VZMAKH" with its own laws, bank, money (points), corporations, newspaper and theatre. We have got "Declaration of rights and freedoms". It’s our pride. Many of our students worked on this declaration. We are not afraid of our teachers. We respect them and they respect us as well. Maybe a word "right" is the main word in our school. We do respect human rights, everybody’s right to be special and make mistakes.
